The Life Editing Framework. For when enough isn’t enough anymore.
Life editing isn’t therapy. It isn’t a productivity system. It’s a practice anyone can use to challenge their default settings. A structured method for closing the gap between the life that looks right on paper and the one that actually feels deliberate. Full. Alive. Three parts. In order. Each one earns the next.
The Life Editing Framework
Cut what’s done. Keep what’s alive.
Three principles for editing the life you’ve built, on your own terms.
-
01
Audit
Clarity before change.
See what’s draining you, what’s misaligned, and what still has value.
-
02
Subtract
Space before more.
Challenge the commitments, habits, and roles that keep you stuck.
-
03
Re-engage
Experiments before commitments.
Small, low-stakes tests that show you what wakes you up.
The Life Editing Framework
1 - The Audit
Clarity before change.
An audit is an unfiltered look at your days, decisions and default settings. It shows what’s draining your energy, what’s misaligned and what still has value. Without it, every change is guesswork. Not dramatic change. Not reinvention. Just reality. Where are you performing instead of being present? What are you holding onto that no longer matters? Who truly knows you, and who only knows the image? This isn’t flaw-hunting. It’s pattern-revealing.
2 - The Strategic Subtraction
Space before more.
Subtraction means consciously challenging the commitments, habits, roles, expectations that keep you stuck, and the patterns that quietly drain your energy without giving anything meaningful back. You don’t need more answers. You need space to ask better questions. Start with one intentional disruption. This isn’t destruction. It’s deliberate demolition, the precise kind that clears what’s dead so what’s alive can breathe.
3 - The Re-engagement
Experiments before commitments.
Re-engagement is evidence-based aliveness testing: small, low-stakes experiments that reveal what energises you and what doesn’t. You’ve cleared what’s done. Now you test for what’s alive. No grand gestures. No “find your purpose” quests. Just micro-experiments, following the faint signal of “Huh, that felt like something.” That’s the data, the proof you’re not disconnected, just disconnected from the right things. Re-engagement is how you return to your life with curiosity, momentum, and intent. Not by doing more. By noticing what wakes you up and doing a little more of that.
Why it works
The framework draws on positive psychology and change methodology, the same evidence-based tools used to move entire companies through transformation, and applies them to one very specific, very personal transformation: yours. It’s not about finding yourself. It’s about coming back to yourself.
